Jennifer Van Tiem, PhD Research Assistant Professor, Family and Community Medicine Heather Schacht Reisinger, PhD Professor, Internal Medicine-General Internal Medicine Director, Implementation Science Center
Dr. Jennifer Van Tiem is a Research Assistant Professor in Family and Community Medicine and the AI Team Lead for the University of Iowa Implementation Science Center. Her work is driven by strong collaboration and a commitment to ensuring that innovations in healthcare extend beyond theory to create real impact in people’s lives.
Dr. Heather Schacht Reisinger is a Professor of Internal Medicine and Director of the University of Iowa Implementation Science Center. Her research interests include understanding human behavior and the factors that motivate it. She brings this perspective to her leadership, fostering an interdisciplinary community dedicated to creatively improving the health and well-being of millions.
Together, Drs. Van Tiem and Reisinger will share insights from their recent study, “Listening to the note: clinician perspectives on ambient artificial intelligence scribes in medical documentation,” highlighting the challenges and benefits their team uncovered while exploring this emerging technology.
